Leather Cuff Bracelets

Going through my closet the other day, I found an awesome blue leather belt that I had forgotten I had...much to my disappointment it no longer fit my waist (surprise), but it was way too cool (had these awesome diamond punch outs) to give away, so I decided to make something with it. I am a huge fan of thick leather cuff bracelets, I have an awesome brown one that I wear frequently.  So on lives the awesome belt, only on my wrists now instead of my waist!
After I cut the leather into pieces that would wrap and fit my wrists, I used embroidery thread and a needle to weave a fun pattern in and out of the pre existing holes...

Then I attached some grommet snap buttons as closures...

Pretty neat right? This could be done with any flat leather belt, I was able to push the needle through the solid material with the yellow thread (where there were no holes punched), although I definitely used a thimble to help push the needle through, because the leather was thick. I could totally see doing this again with a solid belt and having the freedom to embroider it any which way ...
