Happiest Day

Yesterday Nick and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary. I thought it would be fun to share some photos of our special day two years ago. Not only was the day itself extremely special, so were the days leading up to it. My mom, my maid of honor , and I worked so hard on making all of the decorations and other elements ourselves. I made my own bouquet out of vintage and gifted brooches and jewelry which was so much fun and felt really personal. My mom worked really hard on making a lot of the other elements, including the handkerchief table runners and  tiny gold strung washi tape bunting that became part of the floral centerpieces. She and my father made us special driftwood and moss "Mr & Mrs"  signs for our seats and the table. All of the boutonnieres and wrist corsages I made, using silk flowers and vintage jewelry. My Maid of honor did all of the seating tags, a gorgeous guestbook, and hanging bird cages for the reception..The list could go on and on, and it was so amazing the way all of our friends and family pitched in with their individual skills to help make the day perfect. Nick even made hand-cut copper table numbers on copper hearts that sat in the floral centerpieces on each table....

My dad wrote some beautiful music for the ceremony and my sweet cousin played a solo on his violin. We went from the church to reception in Nick's Grandpa's 1960 Cadillac Eldorado, driven by Grandpa himself. The party began with cocktails outdoors, at tables with bouquets of zinnias and dahlias from my Aunt's garden. Indoors,  the evening began. Candles and twinkly lights were lit. We ate...really good food! We danced and then ate some more. I couldn't have asked for a better day, especially since I got to marry my best friend in the whole world while surrounded by the love of our family and friends...it still feels like yesterday and I love that fact:)
