Learning As I Go...

I mentioned the other day that I've been trying to bring back my knowledge of basic crochet. I've found several helpful videos online, and after grasping the concept once more decided to try making a simple blanket! Ambitious? Yes. Too ambitious. The result was hours of work that resulted in wonky rows and frustrations. I went back to the start line and decided to work in small squares, practicing even rows until I had it down pat. Then it occurred to me that if I was investing time into these little squares, why not make many and then turn those into a blanket! So I share with you, my efforts thus far.
So there you have it. Five and a quarter little squares. I have dreams of adding a scalloped edge to the whole thing once it's pieced together. Since I'm learning as I go, I'll have to look into how that's done. I'm hoping I will also be able to figure out how to get all the squares together neatly. Youtube search here I come!

If you have any tips for me please share!

  1. You know, I think that the result will be ever so much more interesting than the "straight across" project that you had originally planned. Yummy colors, too!
