DIY Shower Curtain

Hello:) Hope you are all having a lovely day...mine just got a little better, thanks to a super cute (super easy/cheap) new shower curtain project!
One of the first things we did when we moved into our home was to change the shower curtain rod from a straight bar to a curved one. The curved bar keeps the curtain out a ways, giving the bather lots of extra elbow room. Although this meant that the shower curtain has to stay tucked into the tub at the bottom, to avoid bumping into the toilet (we have a teeny bathroom;).
For this reason, we can't really have a decorative outer curtain because it too would have to be inside the tub, and ugh...soggy mess. So we stick to plastic, and I'm always on the look-out for fun or interesting plastic curtains that fit the (albeit minimal) look of our bathroom. I always try and go for something that lets the light through also, because the only window in the whole bathroom is located inside the shower:( So, the other day it hit me! Why not just get a plain plastic liner and customize it myself? Here's what I did:
Please excuse the blurry photos...technical difficulties:(
1. I cut myself a stencil out of thick card-stock (went with the anchors because of the nautical "flavor" in the bathroom) 2. Then I lay strips of blue tape down to act as my permanent measuring tool (helps here to use a clear curtain), and spread the curtain out on top 3. Starting at the bottom of the curtain I traced and filled my anchors on, in a row from left to right. I wanted sort of a playful feel with the marker and all, so perfection wasn't a top priority 4. Then I slid the curtain down, skipping a "row" and started the next line of anchors. I thought skipping a row would keep the finished design from looking too " whoa anchors!" (thankfully I was right) 5. When I got to the top of the curtain, I shook it out, and up it went!
Notice aforementioned  "shower-window" messin' with my photo...
This was a really easy project, and I'm so happy with our little anchors;) I can't wait to think of the next print I want to try when it's time to switch out for a new curtain!

If you give this a try, I'd love to see what you did!

  5. Glad I found this! Super CUTE!! I have a 1/2 bath with a closet... well... we took out the closet doors in there and put up a boring white fabric shower curtain. NOW I know how to make it not so boring. (Not sure why I didn't think of this myself! lol) Thanks for the inspiration!
