Lovely Additions
I'm a happy lady today because I recently got two lovely new items for our home. A big, beautiful, vintage mirror and a sweet robin's egg blue vase! Meagan, owner and creator of Telesca , was closing her little shop in Rhinebeck , NY to focus exclusively on her online shop. I went for one last visit to her sweet little shop in Rhinebeck, and scored these two amazing pieces.
I am so in love with the mirror, which looks amazing both horizontally and vertically, so I took my time choosing just the right spot for it in the house.
I finally decided that it was just perfect over the fireplace. What do you think? I was growing a bit tired of the clean structural mirror that hung there before (remember it here?) N helped me hang this new one nice, and high. I think I really love the height because it not only makes the ceiling feel higher but also breaks up the even line of the tops of things we had going on in here. I had noticed that all of the curtain rods, shelf tops etc. all ended about 2 ft down from the ceiling (obsessive much?), and the extreme height of the mirror helps to break that up in a very lovely way.
I'm equally thrilled about the vase...It has such a unique shape that I can see it playing many different roles here. Right now it holds a homemade bouquet (more on this soon), but I could also see it holding all my wooden cooking utensils in the kitchen or standing alone on a shelf. I can already picture it stuffed full of big hydrangea blooms from our garden, come summer time:)
You must, MUST visit Telesca. I am not exaggerating when I say I would buy everything in the shop if I could. Meagan has exceptional taste, and chooses ( and designs/makes!) the most wonderful things for her shop.
Happy Friday!!

This is lovely! Those soft pastel and creamy shades are very calming. I'm looking forward to filling my home with plants and do a little flower arranging too, but I'm a novice at growing things...something I plan to work on in the spring. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, also following you now.

Mary
