Warm and Cold

A couple of days upstate this weekend...we went up to visit my Grandma and to attend services for her husband, our "Grandpa" Norman. It was a mix of emotion, sadness for the loss of a special person, peace over the fact that he is resting now. It was a beautiful ceremony, wonderful music and many stories shared. The day left me feeling proud of the way my Grandma planned it all to celebrate his life.
We slept at Podunk and caught up with family we hadn't seen in a while. On the second day it snowed hard and the wind blew, and we headed home on white country roads.

We arrived home to a huge tree down here...which, by some miracle, only hit the garage and a car not our whole house. It's top limbs just grazed Sunny, who lost a few tail lights but that's all we think.
Nick spent the rest of the day, into the evening, cutting it apart. We are so thankful it wasn't worse. Winter is here for sure...

I hope you are all keeping warm, these cold cold days.
