Happy Little Guest Room

Happy Tuesday, the sun finally makes an appearance! I thought I'd take a break from Christmas festivities today to share a room redo that I've just finished. Our little guest room is an ongoing challenge for me.  It is the room that sees the least amount of people, yet I see it every time I go into our bedroom.  It's the room where I shove all things on hold(items to go up into the attic, our Christmas bins that await tree decorating time), and what a shame, because it really is a lovely little room. I had originally painted it a very bright, yet almost dark, obnoxious yellow.
(BEFORE)
This photo doesn't even do it justice. It was much stronger in real life.  Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome yellow, just not when it covered all the walls of a small room.  So when N brought me a gallon of a beautiful, much much lighter, softer, and happier yellow I was thrilled:)
I am so happy with the final product:)  I know it has an overwhelming "feminine flair" but I couldn't help it. I would have loved to go out and purchase all new decorating things, but that was not an option sooo the little rocking chairs are from Podunk, I made the funny little rag dolls over the summer, the large colored frames contain dish cloths that were a gift (from Anthropologie) that were just too pretty to wipe my hands on, and the furniture (my absolute favorite part of the room) was a gift from my mother last spring, we found the large armiore style dresser and matching end table at an antique store in Rhinebeck, NY.

What do you think? Would you like to sleep in here if you were our guest? ;)
