I have a slight obsession with leather jewelry...cuffs, bracelets, pouches, etc.
Today I made my own little painted leather pouch necklace! Here's how it's done:
This is one of those projects that is fairly simple but the end result looks pretty darn cool;)  I used a scrap of leather from a group that I bought at the craft store. I rounded the corners of my square and used acrylic paint to create a fun and unique design on my leather. Then I folded the edges in (see photo), and stitched with a few strong stitches using brown embroidery thread. Then I folded the top piece down, envelope style, and added a bead and thread loop as a closure. Opening the flap again, I made two small 1/4" slits in the top (where the crease would be when closed) using my X-acto blade, and slid my leather cording through (pre-cut to my desired necklace length). That's it!!
I love unique jewelry..things I really won't see anywhere else:)
Happy Monday!
