One of my biggest pet-peeves at the checkout line is when foods/products from different departments get mixed in the bag. I like to keep my meats separate from my vegetables, etc. Here's a fun way to make unique market bags that will keep things clean and organized for the trip home!
You will need:
-Plain tote bags
-Black acrylic paint/paintbrush
-Permanent white marker pen (medium tip)
(Insert newspaper or cardboard into the bag to avoid paint seepage). Spread a thin layer of black paint over the front panel of the bag and allow to fully dry.
Lightly pencil in your word fonts and designs. I did this free-hand, but you could use stencils or a transfer if you are not feeling sure. I looked at these blackboard typography examples to help guide me.
Take your white paint pen and carefully go over your pencil lines, adding shading and extra strokes where desired.
Complete the rest of the set, let dry, and shop away!!
I was so excited with the way that my bags turned out. I think it's great to visually love everything that we use on a regular basis, and why shouldn't your shopping bags be really cool!!
*To clean, use mild soap and water and hand-wash. Do not launder or scrub. Lay flat or hang upside down to dry.
Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful start to the holiday weekend!
We're off to the orchard today for a "season kick-off" celebration!! (perhaps I'll bring my new bags for orchard goodies;)
Enjoy!
